For those of you that have never met me, you might think that I am a four year old boy, by the amount of four year old boy photos that are posted here, but I'm quite a bit older than that. So, I thought it would be a good idea to put my own photo up here. This is me donning one of new summer babies. Her name is Lana and she comes with four different beautiful ribbon combinations. She was inspired by this great felt 1940's hat that I found in a friend's attic. This was taken outside in sub zero weather with snow a few feet under this picture. The smile is fake since what I was really feeling was ccccooold! I just posted this hat on my etsy site. It's snowing again in our beautiful town. We really were told that we don't get that much snow here, but maybe that's in comparing it to New Brunswick where they don't see the ground for six months. I'm also posting a photo I took at Blue Rocks, which is this unbelievably beautiful area just 3 miles from my home. It's very rocky with lots of fishermen's shanties and in the summer the ground is full with wild blueberries. Took a walk there the other day and began dreaming of blueberries. Until Next time....Happy Hatting.

I have finally put enough boxes away to warrant taking a picture of this amazing home we live in. It's kind of like a spa. I'll try to remember to photograph the bath tub. That's the most amazing part to me. The view from our window is of Lunenburg harbour. I haven't yet taken a photo that does it justice. Dusty has learned that Mama does not answer him at sunrise or sunset. I take my post in the rocking chair by the window and I talk when the sun has come up or after it sets. Since finishing my summer line I have been doing alot of aimless wandering around the house. There is tons to do, but I am slightly catatonic from having almost not taken a day off since July. That might be a slight exaggeration, but it feels like that to me. Today Tony and I went to Halifax and shopped for tools and thread. It was a rare Halifax winter day where the sky was blue. Lunenburg actually has tons of blue sky in the winter. I have heard that spring is when you want to do yourself in. I'll be sure to let you know when we get there. Here is one more of my new hats for spring. I have been dying linen which is really fun. I love different textures of fabric that are united by colour. I took this photo of Dusty because as he was trying to get his toes out of his pant leg he was chanting I think I can , I think I can...Until Next Time. Happy Hatting.

I did it!! Unbelievable. My summer line is finished and on my way to my sales rep. That was done while moving for the second time in 5 months, filling winter orders and making valiant efforts at being a mother. I actually had graciously refused to do a summer wholesale line, feeling like the stress would put me over the edge. I was so proud of myself, standing up for my sanity, but somehow, my sales rep, being an unbelievable salesperson, did not take no for an answer and I found myself saying I would do it. I'm now happy I did. A couple of my hats are bases on vintage handkerchiefs. Each one has a flower made out of a one of a kind hankie. It's pretty darn cute if I may say so myself. Well, now that it's done I find myself puttering around the house unable to really focus on anything. The job that is calling me is taxes, but when I hear it I somehow manage to find some distraction or feel I need a cup of coffee. What I'm wishing for is a small period of quiet so that I can hang some pictures on my wall and maybe make a pair of pajamas or something, but I know I need to be careful what I wish for.

Amazing how time passes and things do get done. If only I could just do away with the stress it takes to get there. We are in our new beautiful home. I have 90 % of the boxes put away and I will leave the last 10% scattered about for the next couple of years just so that I recognize myself. I'll get some photos up soon. I have a great new camera, courtesy of mom and dad, and after several hours and a long conversation with Nikon tech support I can now upload the photos to my computer. If you spend any amount of time with me you will notice that the word deadline is in my conversation several times a day. It got so that I began to really make myself ill with this word. The word has been controlling my life. So, I looked up the definition and history of the word and it seems that the word deadline refers to the boundary in a prison that gets you shot if you cross it. Hmmmm, makes me wonder if it's really all that bad. Just trying to get my summer line out and fill orders at the same time. Lunenberg continues to amaze me with it's friendliness. Chert (kitty) got himself stuck up in a tree once again. Seems he has to have this experience at every new dwelling. Funny how we are destined to repeat ourselves. So, I know they say that they will come down when they are hungry, but this one won't. After 24 hours up there and a blizzard on the way I called our electric department partly because of a hanging wire over the roof, but at the same time inquired if there were any die hard cat lovers on the crew. Two men and a big cherry picker spent an hour getting Chert out of the tree. I tried so hard to give them cookies, alcohol and money in that order, but they would hear nothing of it. One guy said after 35 years on the crew this was his first cat rescue. Chert kept going higher and higher, but the guy said, "He can only go so far" and indeed when Chert was hovering on the very top of this 40 foot tree he had no where to go, but into the bucket. I think he will be an indoor cat for the winter. The other picture that I am posting is of Dusty and his friend Lili. This is their wedding photo.
